Genetic mutants with Naam, Sirt1 alterations

Names of genes are ordered alphabetically. For the order of interventions, please see the specific paper.
  • Strain

    D-NAAM[42];Sir2[4.5],[5.26]

  • Diet

All of the fly stocks were maintained on standard cornmeal molasses medium. For the longevity experiments, the flies were mated and raised on sucrose medium.

  • Lifespan (days)

    36.88

  • Lifespan change (compared to wild type)

    -22.44%

  • Phenotype

In adult females, the extension of life span mediated by D-NAAM overexpression is completely abolished if the Sir2 gene is mutated.

  • Lifespan comparisons

Double mutant Naam(if);Sirt1(df) has a lifespan of 36.88 days, while single mutant Sirt1(df) has a lifespan of 44.88 days, single mutant Naam(if) has a lifespan of 36.88 days and wild type has a lifespan of 47.55 days.
